What Happens When I Make A Reservation?

Great question.  You’ll be asked to step through a series of questions – things like your name, email address, and credit card information.  Walk yourself through those, and you will receive a confirmation email that your reservation has been accepted.  Your credit card will be charged  $100 for 20 foot yurts, $100 for 24 foot yurts, $150 for 30 foot yurts, and $200 for the Stecoah House cabin at the time of your reservation.  Your card information will be held by our system and will charge the remaining balance seven (7) days before  your arrival date.  Once the balance has been received, you will then receive via email a Check-In Document, which will provide you directions to Sky Ridge and a unique door code for entry into your yurt or cabin.  Most people don’t have any issues with making a reservation, but the system is run by a computer, so if it’s acting weird on you, you can always call us at 704-701-5696 and we will make the reservation for you over the phone.


What Time Is Check-In and Check-Out?

Officially, you are welcome to check into your yurt or cabin between the hours of 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm.  If you think you might get to the area earlier than 4:00 pm, we encourage you to call us at 704-701-5696 to check about an earlier check-in time.  Sometimes we can accommodate you sooner than 4:00 pm, but we won’t know until the day of your check-in.  Please be sure that you arrange to check-in before 10:00 pm.  This way we can be sure that everyone is in their units before quiet hours begin.  If you cannot check in by 10:00 pm, arrangements MUST BE MADE with the reservation office at 704-701-5696.

How Do I Get My Keys?

We don’t use keys at Sky Ridge.  All of our entry doors are uniquely coded for each guest.  Your door code is included in your Check-In Document.


What If I Want To Rent All Five Yurts At Once?

If you want the place all to yourself (which is way cool, by the way), it’s best if you contact us at 704-701-5696.  We offer discounted pricing for whole facility rental, but we have to do that manually for you.  So, it’s best that you let us make your reservation if you are renting all five.


Do I Get A Discount If I’m Staying Seven Days Or More?

Yes!  We offer a “seventh night free” discount at Sky Ridge!  This discount is automatically applied when your reservation dates exceed six days.


What’s Your Pet Policy?

We love pets at Sky Ridge, but it does take a little extra love and care for us to clean up behind them.  For that reason, we do charge a flat $20 pet cleaning fee when you stay with us.  When you make your reservation, you will be asked if you are bringing any pets.  If you are, please let us know!  It will give us a heads up to leave a special pet bed for your fur baby to use while you’re here, and it will save us the hassle of charging your card after the fact if we find that you did bring pets.  We also ask that you clean up after them inside and out, and keep them quiet and leashed out of respect for other guests.  Of course, if we find excessive damage due to pets, we will contact you and work out the details.


What Happens If I Have To Cancel?

Our official cancellation policy for a full refund of your deposit is 30 days before your arrival.  However, we are pretty flexible and are willing to work with you if something comes up that keeps you from coming to Sky Ridge.  If you need to cancel in fewer than 30 days, give us a call and we will try to re-rent your yurt.  If we do that, we will refund your deposit in full.  If we can’t, we will give you a credit equal to your full deposit for a stay at another time.


Is Sky Ridge Smoke-Free?

Yes!  We do not allow smoking inside of our yurts for any guest.  If you must smoke (and we really wish you wouldn’t at all for your own health) you MUST do so outside.  If we find evidence that you or any in your party have smoked inside of our yurts or cabin, your credit card will be charged a fee of $350 to cover the extensive costs of removing the damage.


Do I Need A 4WD Vehicle To Make It To Sky Ridge?

We are up in the clouds, but fortunately we have a well-maintained road.  Cars, minivans, trucks, and SUV’s can make it up easily.  Of course, if it’s snowing during your stay, 4WD vehicles will help tremendously.


Do You Have Cellular and Wifi Coverage?

Our customers have reported strong signals for most of the major cellular carriers, with Verizon seeming to be the strongest.  We also do offer free wi-fi for our customers, but service is not guaranteed.  In the event that you cannot connect to our wi-fi connection, we will call in a service call to the provider, but we can’t promise they will have any issues fixed during your stay.


Are Linens and Towels Provided?

Yes!  We provide everything you need for a stay at Sky Ridge.  Linens and towels are provided, as are satellite television, wi-fi, coffee, and firewood.  Also, although we are not terribly remote, we are way up in the Smokies, so wi-fi connections are provided but not guaranteed.
